European Biogas Association

About EBA

European Biogas Association (EBA) is the European trade association for biogas and biomethane, headquartered in Brussels and founded in 2009. It represents the full value chain—feedstock suppliers, technology providers, project developers, operators, gas grid companies, and national associations—active in anaerobic digestion and biomethane upgrading across Europe.

EBA’s work focuses on EU policy and regulatory advocacy, market and technical analysis, and knowledge sharing to scale sustainable production and use of biogas/biomethane for energy, transport, heating, and industrial applications. The association publishes statistics and reports on production capacity, sustainability and lifecycle emissions, and grid injection, and convenes industry stakeholders through working groups and conferences. Its activities support decarbonization, circular economy practices, nutrient recycling, and waste management in agriculture, food, and municipal sectors, linking renewable gases with the broader energy and process industries.
