Delft Offshore Turbine

About DOT

Delft Offshore Turbine (DOT) is a Netherlands-based engineering company and spin-out of Delft University of Technology focused on innovations for offshore wind. The company develops concepts aimed at simplifying turbine design and reducing lifecycle costs and maintenance in harsh marine environments.

DOT is known for its hydraulic drivetrain concept, in which wind turbines pump pressurized fluid to a central platform for power conversion, removing heavy electrical components from individual nacelles. It also advances installation and foundation technologies such as slip-joint connections for monopiles to enable faster, simpler offshore assembly. DOT works with industrial partners and research institutions and carries out prototype and demonstration projects in the North Sea to validate its technologies.
