Darling Ingredients Inc. is a U.S.-based company that recovers animal by-products and other food industry residuals and converts them into ingredients and bioenergy. Headquartered in Irving, Texas, it operates globally across North America, Europe, South America, and Asia. The company, formerly known as Darling International, serves food, feed, pet food, pharmaceutical, and technical markets.
Its activities include rendering and used-cooking-oil collection; production of fats, proteins, and minerals for animal nutrition; manufacture of gelatin and collagen for food and pharmaceutical applications; and processing of residuals into fertilizers and other technical ingredients. Darling is also active in low-carbon fuels, co-owning Diamond Green Diesel with Valero Energy to produce renewable diesel from waste fats and oils. The company’s network supports circular-economy supply chains by converting residual materials into inputs for downstream chemical and materials processes.
