Danish CCUS Alliance

Denmarkexample.com

Danish CCUS Alliance is a cross‑sector coalition in Denmark focused on advancing carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS). It brings together industrial emitters, energy and waste-to-energy operators, ports and logistics providers, technology suppliers, research institutions, and infrastructure companies to help build an end‑to‑end CCUS value chain from capture at source to transport, utilization, and permanent geological storage, primarily in and around the North Sea.

The alliance works to coordinate projects and shared infrastructure (e.g., CO₂ hubs, liquefaction, shipping and pipeline routes, and offshore storage sites), provide policy and regulatory input, and promote standards, safety, permitting practices, and workforce development. For the chemical and broader process industries, it supports pathways to reduce hard‑to‑abate process emissions, create CO₂ streams for utilization in e‑fuels and synthetic chemicals, and enable negative emissions where biogenic CO₂ is captured. Its activities align with Denmark’s climate objectives by accelerating large‑scale, cost‑effective deployment of CCUS across industry clusters and supply chains.
