CSLM Europe Kft., with the full registered name CSLM Europe Bioetanol Termelő és Kereskedelmi Korlátolt Felelősségű Társaság, is a Hungarian limited liability company incorporated in 2007 and headquartered at 1052 Budapest, Váci utca 24. Its primary registered activity is the manufacture of organic chemical basic materials (NACE 2014).
The company was established as the Hungarian-registered project entity and owner vehicle for a US-Hungarian joint venture between CSLM Holding and Bio-Tech-Energy. This JV announced plans in March 2006 for the Marcali Bioethanol Plant, a greenfield corn dry-mill facility in southwest Hungary. The project envisioned processing around 500,000 tonnes of corn annually to produce more than 100,000 tonnes of bioethanol per year plus typical co-products such as DDGS animal feed, at an estimated cost of EUR 67 million. It was expected to create 50 direct jobs but never progressed beyond the announcement stage.
The initiative was suspended by late 2007 or early 2008 amid high grain prices and market uncertainties affecting Hungarian bioethanol projects at the time. No construction, commissioning, or commercial operation occurred, and no revival has been documented. The company remains active in the Hungarian registry as a micro-enterprise with modest capital and no branches, though public details on current operations or ownership are limited.
