Covestro Japan Ltd.

Covestro Japan Ltd. is the holding company and central operational entity for the Covestro group in Japan. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Covestro Deutschland AG, it manages corporate functions and specializes in the import and sales of polycarbonates and specialty films, along with polycarbonate application development.

Established in July 2007 as Bayer MaterialScience Japan Ltd., it was renamed Covestro Japan Ltd. in 2015 after the carve-out from Bayer AG. The company serves as the mother entity overseeing other Covestro subsidiaries in Japan, including joint ventures such as Sumika Covestro Urethane Co., Ltd. for polyurethane raw materials and DIC Covestro Polymer Ltd. for thermoplastic polyurethanes, as well as Japan Fine Coatings Co., Ltd. for UV-curable resins.

Headquartered in Tokyo, with additional facilities for production, research, and sales across Japan, Covestro Japan Ltd. supports local customers in key sectors including automotive, electronics, and construction. It provides technical evaluation, application support, and development services for high-performance materials like Makroblend polycarbonate blends used in exterior automotive parts.
