CNOOC Uganda Limited

CNOOC Uganda Limited is a subsidiary and overseas operating entity of CNOOC Limited, China's largest offshore oil and gas producer. The company focuses on the exploration, development, and production of oil and gas resources in Uganda, primarily as the operator of the Kingfisher Development Area (KFDA) project located in Kikuube District on the shores of Lake Albert in western Uganda.

In the Lake Albert basin joint venture, CNOOC Uganda Limited holds a 28.33 percent participating interest and operates the Kingfisher fields, while TotalEnergies EP Uganda holds 56.67 percent and operates the Tilenga project, with the Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) holding the remaining 15 percent. The Kingfisher project includes a central processing facility with a capacity of 40,000 barrels of oil per day and is expected to contribute significantly to Uganda's first commercial oil production targeted for 2026.

The company's activities encompass drilling operations, facility construction, environmental management, and community development initiatives, including scholarships, healthcare support, and local content programs. As one of the key crude oil owners in Uganda's upstream sector, CNOOC Uganda Limited is positioned to supply feedstock to the planned Uganda Refinery Project under the Crude Suppliers Agreement.

Part of the broader CNOOC International group, the entity plays a pivotal role in Uganda's emerging petroleum industry, leveraging advanced technologies for efficient and responsible resource development while fostering partnerships with local stakeholders and contributing to national economic growth through the oil and gas sector.
