The Canadian Cancer Trials Group (CCTG) is an academic cooperative oncology group that designs and conducts clinical trials testing cancer therapies, supportive care, and prevention interventions across Canada and internationally.
Founded in 1980 and based at the Sinclair Cancer Research Institute at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, CCTG operates through a network of more than 85 member institutions involving over 2,100 Canadian investigators and 4,400 clinical trial staff. It has facilitated over 600 trials and collaborated with more than 20,000 professionals in 40 countries on six continents, enrolling thousands of patients annually.
CCTG is a national program of the Canadian Cancer Society and the only non-American partner of the US National Clinical Trials Network. Its research spans multiple cancer types, including prostate cancer, with a focus on improving survival, quality of life, and advancing evidence-based treatments through phase I-III studies and global partnerships.
The group emphasizes rigorous science, patient-centered approaches, and international collaboration to drive progress in oncology care.
