BioVeritas, LLC is a sustainable fuels and chemicals technology company headquartered in Bryan, Texas. The company develops the proprietary BioVeritas Process™, a mixed-culture fermentation technology that converts diverse biomass feedstocks—such as agricultural residues, woody biomass, food waste, and corn stover—into volatile fatty acids (VFAs) and intermediate chemicals known as KEYtones™.
These intermediates are compatible with existing HEFA (hydroprocessed esters and fatty acids) infrastructure, including Topsoe’s HydroFlex™ technology, enabling the production of drop-in renewable jet fuel, diesel, and other low-carbon products without new refining builds. The process supports second-generation feedstocks to address limitations of first-generation oils and fats.
Originating from research at Texas A&M University nearly 30 years ago, BioVeritas operates a market demonstration unit in Bryan since 2018 and commissioned a demonstration-scale fermentor in 2024. It is a portfolio company of Ara Partners, focusing on industrial decarbonization.
