BHP Petroleum International was the upstream oil and gas business of BHP Group, focused on the exploration, development, and production of crude oil, condensate, and natural gas. The portfolio included conventional offshore assets and developments across key basins in Australia, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean, as well as deepwater projects in Mexico. Its output supplied energy markets and provided natural gas and condensate that serve as important feedstocks for refining and petrochemical value chains.
In June 2022, BHP’s petroleum assets, including BHP Petroleum International, were combined with Woodside to form Woodside Energy Group. Following this transaction, the business and its interests were integrated into Woodside and no longer operate as a standalone brand.
