Ballestra Engineering and Projects Private Limited (BEPL), also known as Ballestra India, is the Indian subsidiary of Ballestra Group, an engineering and technology licensing company founded in 1960 and headquartered in Milan, Italy.
The group, which includes Ballestra S.p.A. and BUSS ChemTech AG (Switzerland), specializes in the design, engineering, and supply of processing plants and proprietary technologies for the chemical industry, with a focus on fertilizers, acids, fluorine derivatives, and oleochemistry.
It operates in over 120 countries, with approximately 6,400 plants installed historically and around 460 employees across Italy, Switzerland, and India.
In June 2026, Nextchem completed the acquisition of the entire Ballestra Group for an enterprise value of €108.2 million, integrating its technologies in phosphate and potassium fertilizers, sulfuric and phosphoric acids, and applications relevant to lithium-ion batteries and detergents.
