Bangkok Synthetics Co., Ltd. (BST) is a Thai petrochemical manufacturer established in 1991 as a pioneer in the C4 business under Thailand's national petrochemical development program. The company began commercial operations in 1995 and expanded its production capacity in 1998. It is recognized as the largest producer of mixed C4 products in Southeast Asia.
BST's primary products include butadiene, butene-1, MTBE, and C4 raffinates, which serve as essential feedstocks for synthetic rubbers, plastic resins, latex emulsions, and other downstream petrochemical applications used in tires, medical devices, auto parts, packaging, and consumer goods. The company has also developed capabilities in nitrile butadiene latex (NBL), styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), and other synthetic latices, targeting markets such as medical gloves and fuel-efficient tires.
Headquartered in Bangkok's Bangrak district, BST operates major production facilities in the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate in Rayong province. It functions as a key associate within the SCG Chemicals (SCGC) group, with SCG holding approximately 54% ownership following a 2021 acquisition. In 2026, it was identified among SCGC's relevant joint venture companies in discussions for a potential strategic joint venture with PTT Global Chemical (GC). BST contributes to Thailand's integrated petrochemical supply chain and holds a leading position in the regional C4 and synthetic latex sectors.
