Baltic Chemical Plant LLC is a Russian petrochemical project company and a subsidiary of RusGazDobycha. It is developing a major integrated gas-to-chemicals complex near Ust-Luga on Russia’s Gulf of Finland in Leningrad Oblast.
As owner of the Gas Chemical Complex (part of the Ethane-rich Gas Processing Complex), the company is building an ethane-to-ethylene-to-polyethylene value chain. Under an ethylene technology license with Lummus Technology, the complex includes 14 SRT VI cracking furnaces designed for up to 3 million metric tons per year of ethylene, supplying polyethylene units targeting up to 3 million tons per year of output. Engineering, procurement and modular solutions for auxiliary units, including spent caustic treatment, are being delivered with international contractors such as China National Chemical Engineering & Construction Corporation Seven (CC7) and McDermott. The project is designed to use modern, energy-efficient technologies with feedstock flexibility to support large-scale production of basic polymers for domestic and export markets.
