Axent Infraestructuras de Telecomunicaciones is a Spanish wholesale telecommunications infrastructure company specializing in fiber optic connectivity and high-capacity services for the digital economy.
Founded in 2018 as a joint venture between Enagás and Axión Infraestructuras de Telecomunicaciones (part of Asterion Industrial Partners), Axent has built and operates a carrier-neutral network exceeding 5,700 kilometers of buried fiber optic cable across the Iberian Peninsula. The infrastructure connects major Spanish cities, data centers, hyperscale cloud providers, and submarine cable landing stations, with extensions and partnerships enabling connectivity to Portugal and France.
Core offerings include dark fiber pairs (lease or IRU), dedicated high-capacity circuits combining lit fiber and radio links, colocation at over 60 telecommunications hubs, and tailored engineering projects. The company emphasizes high availability, strict SLAs, low latency, and resilience, serving telco operators, international carriers, OTTs, and hyperscalers with customizable backbone, backhaul, and access solutions.
In October 2025, Enagás completed the acquisition of the remaining 51% stake, establishing full ownership and integrating Axent as a subsidiary to advance its digital infrastructure and decarbonization strategy. Axent positions itself as a leading neutral operator in Spain's wholesale connectivity market, supporting growing data traffic demands with a focus on innovation and reliability.
