ATCO EnPower is the midstream and generation business division of Canadian Utilities Limited, an ATCO company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It specializes in energy infrastructure that supports the transition to lower-carbon fuels while delivering reliable and affordable energy.

The division's core activities include energy storage (natural gas and emerging hydrogen/carbon options), power generation from natural gas as well as renewables such as solar, wind and hydro, industrial water sourcing, transportation and treatment solutions, and development of clean fuels including hydrogen production, ammonia and carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) technologies. Operations are concentrated in Canada, with a strong presence in Alberta's Industrial Heartland, and extend to generation assets in Mexico.

A flagship project is the Atlas Carbon Storage Hub, a 50/50 partnership with Shell Canada located near Fort Saskatchewan in Alberta's Industrial Heartland. This multi-phase, open-access CCS facility is designed to sequester 6-10 million tonnes of CO2 annually, initially anchored by Shell's Polaris project and supporting ATCO's hydrogen initiatives, with capacity for third-party industrial emitters. Additional projects encompass hydrogen production and refueling stations in Calgary and Edmonton, the Heartland Hydrogen Hub targeting over 300,000 tonnes of low-carbon hydrogen annually by 2029, and the Heartland Energy Centre near Fort Saskatchewan for storage, processing and related services.

Backed by the scale of the ATCO group (approximately 20,000 employees and $25 billion in assets globally), ATCO EnPower leverages established midstream expertise in Alberta to advance decarbonization while maintaining system reliability. It occupies a leading position in Canada's energy transition, focusing on integrated solutions across the hydrogen value chain, CCS and renewables to help meet net-zero goals.
