The World Geothermal Congress is the premier triennial global event for the geothermal energy sector, organized by the International Geothermal Association (IGA) in partnership with Geothermal Canada for the 2026 edition. The 8th edition was held at the TELUS Convention Centre in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It included technical sessions, plenary discussions, keynote speeches, short courses, workshops, networking events, an exhibition, and optional field trips. The event focused on sharing knowledge, innovations, and strategies to advance geothermal technologies and support the global energy transition. The 'Geothermal Terminology' standard was officially released during the congress.
