Kazanorgsintez PJSC announced about start of EVA/LDPE Plant Construction Project. The Japanese company Sumitomo Chemical will act as the Licensor.

Capacity of the new Plant will make 100 thousand tons of EVA (or LDPE) per year. The production facility will be located on an empty space in the territory of Kazanorgsintez. Company’s own funds and leveraged financing are planned to be used for implementation of the Project.

The new Plant will replace the existing production unit. Kazanorgsintez launched production of EVA in 1980, after revamping of the 1st train LDPE Plant. EVA is sold on the market under Sevilen trade name. The existing facilities are outdated and obsolete. After construction of the new Plant, Kazanorgsintez will be able to increase the production of EVA 7.5 times.

Due to its unique properties, EVA has a wide application area. EVA is used in agriculture, construction, consumer goods, footwear, medical industry etc.

Nowadays Kazanorgsintez is the sole EVA producer in Russia.  Company’s share in domestic EVA market is about 20%. The remaining market is covered by foreign producers. If necessary, the new EVA Plant will allow not only to replace imported products in the domestic market, but also to enter external markets.

The new Plant to be built in Kazan will be based on special design Autoclave Reactor. Such engineering solution provides more efficient consumption of feedstock and utilities. This would lead to decrease in both production cost and specific indicators of negative impact to the environment. At the same time, the product quality will comply with the highest international standards.

The selected technology is rather flexible in terms of product slate and allows production of both EVA and LDPE at the same Plant. Currently, several plants operate on the same technology in Japan, Singapore and Saudi Arabia.
