SEMCORP Progresses to Equipment Assembly Stage in Construction, Expected to Operate on Schedule This Year in Debrecen, Hungary

Hungarian company SEMCORP is nearing completion of phase one of its factory in Debrecen. The factory, which has a total investment of 340 million Euros, will focus on manufacturing and selling wet process base diaphragms and functional coating separators for lithium-ion batteries. SEMCORP invested in the factory in 2020 to meet the growing demand for lithium-ion battery separators in the European market. The construction of phase one was completed in October 2022, and equipment assembly is currently underway. The factory is expected to begin operations on schedule this year.

Recently, the Hungarian SEMCORP that has always been at the center of attention—located in the economic zone of southern Debrecen—is reported to have entered the final stage in the construction of phase one and is expected to be operating on schedule this year.

The Hungarian SEMCORP phase one was topped out in the second half of October, 2022 and assorted major equipment are constantly being delivered there at the moment.

Phase One Factory Workshop Has Been Topped Out with Equipment Constantly Being Assembled as the Next Stage

Inside the main phase one factory, the industrial concrete floor and rain & water drainage pipes have been finished, ushering in equipment assembly as the next stage.

In order to meet the growing demand for lithium-ion battery separator in the European market, SEMCORP invested in the Hungarian SEMCORP in 2020, which has become the first overseas wet process lithium-ion battery separator factory financed and built by SEMCORP.

The Hungarian SEMCORP factory has a total investment of 340 million Euros and will be mainly focused on the manufacturing and sales of wet process base diaphragm for lithium-ion battery and functional coating separator.
