Belaruskali, a potash producer in Belarus, has opened the country's first potassium nitrate production plant in partnership with China's Migao Corporation. The plant, called Belkali-Migao, has an annual capacity of 80,000 tonnes of potassium nitrate and will also produce ammonium chloride and other products. The completion of the second stage of the plant will increase its capacity to 160,000 tonnes. The potassium nitrate will be used in the production of complex mineral fertilizers and will be sold domestically and abroad, strengthening Belarus' export position. The project is expected to improve the investment image of the Minsk Region and contribute to social and economic development.
The opening ceremony of the new enterprise was attended by the management of Belaruskali OJSC, headed by General Director Ivan Ivanovich Golovaty, employees of various divisions of the Company, Belkali-Migao LLC. The guests of honor were the chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Anatoly Mikhailovich Isachenko, who supervised this project, the chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Belarus Petr Petrovich Miklashevich, Mr. Sun Pingfu (China), the vice president of Migao Corporation Limited, the chairman of the board of BelVEB Bank OJSC Vasily Stanislavovich Matyushevsky and the head of the Minsk regional administration No. 500 of JSC "ASB Belarusbank" Dmitry Vasilievich Gribovsky.
Addressing those present, the Governor of Minsk Region A.M. Isachenko noted that Belaruskali opens a new page in its history: “The flagship of our potash industry will produce potassium nitrate, a valuable raw material for the production of complex mineral fertilizers. After the construction of the second stage of the Belkali-Migao plant is completed in the near future, its annual capacity will reach 160 thousand tons. Expensive products will be used both in the domestic market and sold abroad - to China, Turkey, Russia, the EU countries. This will further strengthen our export position. In addition, the successful implementation of a joint project with such a reputable company as Migao Corporation Limited will significantly improve the investment image of the Minsk Region. The new plant will replenish the budget base of the region, will contribute to the solution of many social issues, increase the welfare of people of our region. I want to express my deep gratitude to the Chinese partners who have provided and continue to provide us with organizational and technical assistance. I am sure that our joint work will bring good dividends. ”
Words of gratitude to construction organizations, banks, the staff of Belkali-Migao LLC were also expressed by the Director General of Belaruskali OJSC, member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Ivan Golovaty: “Our cooperation with a Chinese company, which is one of the largest consumers of our potash fertilizers , uses them for the production of other potassium-based products, began more than 5 years ago. Then, visiting factories in China, the idea arose to build the same production in Belarus. And we are very grateful to the Chairman of the Board of Migao Corporation Limited, Liu Guotai, for responding to our proposal. It should be noted that the Chinese partners did not just give us the project. This is an advanced technology. And if in China such plants produce about 60 thousand tons of products per year, the annual capacity of our plant is designed for 80 thousand tons of potassium nitrate. At the same time, ammonium chloride will also be produced, including with the addition of phosphorus raw materials and other types of products. After the implementation of two stages of the plant, the share of Belarusian potassium nitrate in the world market will be about 5%. ”
