BASF's Plan to Construct a New World-Scale Plant for Vitamin A in Ludwigshafen

Chemical company BASF has announced plans to build a new plant for vitamin A in Ludwigshafen, Germany. The facility will increase BASF's annual production capacity of vitamin A by 1,500 metric tons and is expected to be operational by 2020. The investment aims to meet the growing demand for vitamin A and ensure a long-term supply for customers. BASF is a leading producer of vitamin A for animal and human nutrition, as well as the cosmetic industry. The new plant will be integrated into BASF's existing production Verbund in Ludwigshafen.

Ludwigshafen, Germany – BASF has started planning for the construction of a new world-scale plant for vitamin A in Ludwigshafen, Germany. The new facility will increase BASF’s total annual production capacity of vitamin A by 1,500 metric tons. Reference value for this amount is vitamin A acetate with

2.8 million International Units. With the planned investment BASF wants to ensure long-term supply of its customers and to meet the growing demand of the market. The new world-scale vitamin A plant is scheduled to come onstream in 2020.
